When Trolls Attack Your Writing
What matters is your truth and how you share it
There was a time in my life when I would feel completely shattered by haters, or by people who didn’t like me. Those days are long behind me, since I have been working so hard on reforming my life.
When we speak our truth, there is always the chance that someone who reads your work will come back with backlash, calling you out for your words, or even attacking you directly. This, sadly, has happened to me.
But, I am okay. In fact, I am better than okay, since I have found ways of coping and dealing with the sad attempts at hurting me, or damaging my reputation as a writer.
Scare tactics, challenges, and even blatant lies were smeared in a campaign against me while I carelessly enjoyed my oblivious life. Once I had a chance to read what my opponents were saying and doing, of course I had a reaction. Of course I felt the sting of worry of who was reading what the writer had to say.
But then it dawned on me. They must have a pretty sad life, and a pathetic relationship when they need to “bond” over a vendetta and the elaborate collaborations that they imbibed upon. I know, that while I am in a happy and healthy relationship, we do not have the time, energy, or the indecency to waste our valuable lives on someone…
