“MOTHER”

Your touch of sharp blades,

Your stare of hot embers

Your glares of disappointment,

I will forever remember

The slap in my face,

The forged “I’m sorry”

Same old treatment,

Different story.

The wish for approval,

The hope for real love,

The realization of the lack

Thereof.

I can’t call you mom,

You are just “Mother”

You won’t love me back,

But you cherish my brother

It has always been lonely

And it hurts in my heart,

The words that you vomit,

Have torn me apart.

So I give you forgiveness,

And true absolution,

For me to live on,

Its the only solution.

The lies you have told

The fake smiles, the deceit

Have knocked me down,

But I got back on my feet

Dear Mother, I love you

And one day you’ll see

That you missed out

In loving me.
