Dear Followers. Thank You
“It is not joy that makes us grateful; it is gratitude that makes us joyful.”-David Steinall-Rast
Medium is a crazy, emotional community. And, I love it.
There is nothing more surprising than receiving messages during the day that someone new is “following you” on Medium. I smile, every time.
I am taking this moment, in my lazy Sunday, to thank each and every one of you. Please know, that I appreciate what it means to have people reading your pieces and taking a moment to hit the tiny little hand to show your love.
I know what it’s like to try and “make it” as a writer, as I have been pouring my heart out and sharing glimpses of the thoughts and ideas in my busy brain for over a year now.I have always been a writer, but before Medium, I was never a “sharer”. I am happy to have you read not only my work, but myself, and you chose me, as one of the writers to follow. Bless you all.
It is humbling and satisfying, knowing that even ONE piece of my work has been read and appreciated by someone, even if it is only by one or two people.
I just read that Medium has MILLIONS of readers and writers. Somedays I feel like my articles, blogs, poems and stories are like a pebble being thrown into the middle of an ocean. Not only do we, as writers, spend countless hours sitting with our computers while our fingers tap away to create works of art, but we do it as members of a vast community. A community that is larger than Italy! It’s easy to get lost in a platform this size and to not be noticed. But YOU, my followers, have chosen to follow me and my work. #grateful
I know that there are so many other writers on this site who are consistently awesome, enlightening and intriguing. I also know that you have the choice to NOT follow me. But, you do, and it makes my heart happy.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I look forward to seeing where this journey takes all of us. I look forward to reading your work and embracing our art together. I am thrilled to a part of Medium’s population, even if I am just a tiny speck in the pool of gifted writers.
Happy reading and writing!
