Awww poor kiddo

Years ago my daughter and her cousin ( of the same age) went to play in her cousin’s room while us adults had tea in the kitchen. They were like sisters until they were about 8 years old.

On this evening while the two were in the cousins room something happened. My daughter came out and asked if we could go home. I thought maybe they had a little tiff.

I asked her what happened and she said she didn’t want to talk about it.

It wasn’t until she was an adult she told me that her cousin was making fun of her for being overweight and not having all of the cool toys

She held that inside her for close to 10 years, and never spoke to her cousin again

Kids are assholes to each other

And it can be tough to actually understand what happens when we aren’t beside them. It’s heart wrenching
